Ouachita River vista, originally uploaded by gurdonark.

This morning we drove to Camden, Arkansas. I was surprised and pleased that my sister and her daughter were there, at least until just after lunch. While my wife took an afternoon nap, I visited that annual crafts fair, the Tate Barn Sale. I did not buy much there, but it was all very well done, and quite inexpensive. I walked by the river and took photos in the afternoon. This evening, my wife, my father, and his wife went to a Spaghetti dinner sponsored by the local Catholic church.

I like little things like small town fund-raiser dinners with sourdough bread.

Sourdough bread in Arkansas? Why does that seem odd to me? Oh, I know - Bay Area resident for too many years. ;-)
Love the photo.

When I was in high school, my mom made sourdough bread every day, using a starter that had been in existence since the 19th C. The sourdough at the spaghetti dinner was pretty much like "Italian bread", but just a bit harder like sourdough.
