Today a UPS box arrived containing the following:

I packaged up the first 18, and took them to the post office. The postage was overall surprisingly reasonable. I came back to my office and packaged another set. I have some more to go to be done with the project. Of course, for my Australian and Canadian friends, it may be more a January card than a December holidays card and CD, but I'm glad to get it done. While the ones I packaged last night enclosed paperback books and similar sundries to satisfy my "de-clutter" goal, the later mailings are
going to be card and CD only, to satisfy my "don't spend hours figuring out what to send" goal.

I'm making great work progress, too, at least until this lunch break, and now I'll plunge in and make more work progress.

I listened to the fruit of my endeavors in the car on the way to mail. It deserves the legend "Best Played with the Mute Button On". I love the way that conversion to CD is kinda like Dolby noise reduction, so that the result is pleasingly quieter and weirder than the original. It still amazes me, though, how the sound/noise levels can get out of hand even on a small portable cassette player.
Ah, fidelity, I name thee virtue.

But now back to work.

Thanks. I thought I'd put you on my mailing list, although I don't want to impose a feeling of a need to reciprocate!

I wish I had not waited so long to get the copies made (kept shopping for a better price while I was inundated with work), so that I could have shipped earlier, but I'm glad it'll get to most places by 12/24.

That's kind of you.

You know, I have enough extra that if you'd like to pass a half dozen out as reciprocating gag gifts at work.....:). But wait, that might be counterproductive....

You are definitely on my mailing list. You signed up some time ago. Yours will go out either today or tomorrow, and either be there in time for the 25th or for Old Christmas a couple of weeks later!

I think there's evidence to support the argument that I am a freak. Thanks for the kind words :)

Is there a pre-established Ebay price or is that like that Pudding the Queen handed out where there's some hidden rules about "Ebay-it-and-you're-fired"?

Looks suitable for framing; nice job.

This is actually the draft, as I had to get them to spell my name right. The finished product looks very much nicer, as the silver looks good. The sound is every bit as amateur as one might expect.

I'd "buy it now!" this one for 3 dollars, but right now I am in giveaway mode. A letter to Mr. A. went out today, enclosing his personal copy.

I see your recent eBay auction ended with success. The sales price just about would send A. and I to Europe for a Swiss system tournament.

It was odder than it appeared, but all is well. Minivan is headed to girl scout troop duty, so good. Buyer came from downtown via our local rail service. At a quaint train station downtown a person begging the commuters for funds acted the part of Jim Morrison to my confused Wayne. He showed me the local train map on the back of the ticket machine, pointed me to up the tracks where we could see the next station/stop, and debated various auto routes to arrive there. Then Ms. RandomBuyer and I sat at simultaneous computers while she bid to current highest price and I closed to highest price. Then she gave me cashier check, I signed off the title, and she drove away.
Funds differ somewhat from the indications as we had already agreed on the price, but had to ensure the buyer won the auction.

A will need a car in 3 yrs, so the money is already put aside for that purpose.
