Every time I get up at dawn and get into work early, I wonder why I don't do this every day.
I wonder if the twin cable "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" episodes, the internet, and the wonderful luxury of early morning reading don't figure in there someplace.

No. I had to go to my office early, because I had meetings out of the office all day!

I have had that feeling of getting up at dawn
and why dont I do this more often...have had it
although not often but, but I have never felt that
feeling on the second successive day of early rising
and perhaps that is a test of it...have you felt
that and wondered that on a second successive
day?
in general am more easily identifying with dr johnson's
"no young man who rises before noon will come to
anything."

*woken this morning at 930 by a phone call where you
call back a number and it seems they are looking for
a mr so and so who is not you etc when you push them
on why the deuce etc...

There's something special about those "wrong number" early morning calls, especially when the caller is indignant that the caller woke the wrong person at dawn.

There's a difficult-to-define peacefulness associated with dawn. Unfortunately, my sleeping patterns don't allow me to experience it.

I know that feeling. But I'm a morning person with insomnia, sometimes, so when I'm less insomniac I'm better able to arise early.

Amen.

And I must confess to a past addiction to Early Morning Vampire Slaying myself.

I wish Buffy started at 5, so I'd watch it at 5-6, leave for work at 7, and arrive at work at 7:45. What a perfect day that would be.
