What a bear of a day...rushing to get a brief done, hopping on the phone with urgency after urgency, capping off with a bit of pro bono work at a legal clinic, sorting through documents...
my moment of frustration at the corporate office store when
a fairly major purchase is treated with less attention than would be an order of a quarter pounder with cheese....the many boxes I must finish packing tomorrow before the big office move....
but deep down, I feel like I got something done...illusory it may be, but it's my illusion, and I'll put it on DVD....

Tomorrow will be move-a-rama. Huge new offices. I'm excited.
I will be so glad when we are fully moved in. It's such a struggle.

We got cable again for our anniversary. It was not available
when we first arrived here, but it came, and now it is ours.
I am (a) really proud that I could go a year without cable and be fine and (b) really glad to get animal planet and HGTV and
endless Buffy and Star Trek reruns and maybe I'll even figure out where Babylon 5 plays these days....

Massive storm tonight! So beautiful...deep purple ("Dweezil Zappa and his mother had the best place in town"), yellows (do I invoke Coldplay or Yello for this joke?) and pounding big drops of rain.....rain is my mantra, the only true meditation....grace liquefied.....

"grace liquefied" is a sublime way to describe rain.

I love that moment in a flow of typing when a phrase like that appears on the screen....

Jon and I had cable when we were first married and lived in Syracuse. (There was so little to do in Syracuse--especially during the long snowy winters that we felt we at least deserved some TV choices)-- yes it spoiled us. But when we moved to Baltimore City- it wasn't available and I decided even if it were-- I didn't want another reason to watch more TV, plus Ben was growing and I didn't want him glued to MTV. So we never got it. 12 years without cable! (bows) thankkew!!

Yes,I suppose so-- but everytime we'd go somewhere and be in a hotel room that HAD cable, we'd see how there really was nothing worth watching anyway--so it wasn't that hard. Jon wishes he had ESPN of course... but you can't get JUST ESPN.... (wawaaaaa!)

I think we must have shared a storm from the same front. I woke up several times during the night to the sound of it (which I always enjoy). The dogs seemed nervous about it and made their way into our bedroom; I'm surprised the kids didn't also. I always seem to wake up with the big dog's face right in my face panting.

Where is your new office? Nearby or far away?
