I spent last night on the computer, scanning cases on the LEXIS database for a brief I'm writing. Writing those searches using search terms like "w/15" is always fun,and yet a bit of a puzzle game as to which keywords will turn up which cases. My numerous deadlines seem to be managing themselves nicely, but I must be very productive today.

I will need this weekend, when it arrives, to hike and rest and recover. It's as though I'm planting seeds for a crop of some basic grain, and I hope I can find a flower or two in the sprouts someday.

Ah mentioning Lexis brings out the librarian geek in me.

Do you know one of the luxuries I miss the very most, now that I practice in a smaller firm whose LEXIS subscription is more limited, is the access to NEXIS for my every need! I wish I had an unlimited searches subscription to NEXIS. That would be grand!

Yeah, I miss when the Westlaw and Lexis reps would give us free codes for the day and we could research to our heart's content!

Now you got me thinking. They used to come give MCLE seminars on searching, and usually give free NEXIS codes for fun.....hmmm.....opportunity knocks.....!

And then I get an email saying that Lexis is opening an office in the town where I went to college!
