skunk crossing
Mar. 7th, 2022 10:43 pmSunday I walked on the Celebration Pass Trail in Allen. This suburban trail always interests me. Sunday I saw a live adult skunk crossing the trail. Sunday afternoon I played in an on-line chess tournament sponsored by the new Texas Chess Center. The time control was announced at 10/5, but actually was at 10/0. I tied for second in a small field. My on-line blitz rating went up 26 points. I await the rating of two tournaments. One was Sunday night, when I scored only 1.5 out of 3. The other was Monday a week ago, when I went 2 out of 7. I suspect my rating will drop some 50 to 60 points from its current 1490, but we will see.
The weather turned cold today after being warm yesterday. I took Sparrow for a walk in the early evening when things got dark. He barked at passing dogs. His bark sounds like a heady mix between a plea for friendship, a show of bravado and a note of fear. He is a bit like a teenager that way.
We made plans for a flight upcoming soon.
