long train running
Oct. 6th, 2016 10:18 pmI woke up early to my usual Kix cereal with skim milk. I caught the 7:35 a.m. Red Line train from the Parker Road Station to downtown Dallas. I arrived earlier than my meeting, and walked for a bit downtown. I felt familiar with my destination, because I used to office in the building when I was 25 years old. I still managed to wander a bit getting there, by getting off one train stop too late.
I went downstairs and rested on a handy chair. Then I attended my meeting. My lunch was a tasty set of vegetarian soft tacos. It got out at 8 p.m. I caught the Red Line back north. At Pearl Street Station, dozens of transferees from the Green Line got on the train. This figure was higher because they all came from the State Fair of Texas. I learned that Thursday is Senior Day. An accountant who was the former mayor of the town of Sherman sat beside me and told me stories of his kids' careers. I liked him.
I got home at 10. My wife reheated a fine meal of a pork loin, pasta shells, and asparagus. Now we are watching about the troubling hurricane about to hit Florida.
