Blessed is the WB TV network
.....when it plays the show Angel instead of war news.

Blessed are the birds
.....as they make my heart soar.

Blessed is the pre-dawn
.....when one can just "be".

Blessed are four dollar skull-head pez dispensers at the junktique store
.....because they remind me when horror was only a Halloween thing (and also because I can manage to look and dream only, and not buy).

Blessed are the jonquils
.....because they make me feel as if I could see God.

Blessed are the poor in spirit
.....for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessed are the grackles
.....for they will reincarnate as televangelists.

Blessed are the butterflies
.....for they exist in the moment, which flutters by.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness
.....for they will be filled.

Blessed are oversize older model Ford automobiles
.....because they connect me with who I really am.

Blessed are the peacemakers
.....for they shall be called children of God.

---the good ones are ascribed to Christ by St. Matthew; the rest are my own.

It a circle of grackle/televangelists life. A wheel of life indeed.

A jonquil is a southern name for a daffodil--they're not the same, but what we all call a daffodil (at least what we did when I was a kid) wsa a jonquil, which bloom in early Spring and are just gorgeous.
