A Loss of an LJ Friend

Saturday afternoon I thought about the Livejournal user tx_cronopio. We know her not only from her weblog, but off-line as well. At one time, sh took care of our beloved and now departed dog Beatrice. I wanted to reach out to her because I had never thanked her for that, even when she posted a reply to a social media post in which I described our the day we had to euthanize Beatrice. I had neglected that too long, having been negligent when the time arose.  I wanted to remedy that, and also to make sure she was okay.

Though I have her email somewhere, for some reason I first entered her name and city in a search engine. I suppose I had a foreboding of some sort.   I found that an obituary had just been posted saying she passed away on December 11. I had known she was coping with long-term illness.

We got together with her in person just a few times. I remember that the three of us went to a showing of the nominees for the Academy Award for animated short films. She watched over Beatrice a goodish few other times, until she moved further away from us. I followed her journal for years,  I wish I had reached out earlier.

She was witty, bright and independent. I am sorry to learn of her passing.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear the news. I'm glad you knew her in "real" life as well as online.

Yes, she was a good person--spirited, politically-conscious and well-meaning. I liked that even after most people's journals quieted down a good bit, hers had lots of comments and interaction. She was able to express what she thought and felt in a way that I think allowed her friends to relate to what she had to say.
