I flew to Kansas City on December 3. This was my first air travel since the pandemic began. It was good to see my wife's family. We walked in the Parkville nature trail. We visited Union Station and failed to escape an escape room. We had a great meal of Argentine food.
I finished reading Laird Hunt's novel "Zorrie,", which is one of my favorite novels of all. Now I am reading Christpher Hinz's novel "Refraction," which is not as much to my taste, but is still proving a good read.
On this most recent Sunday I drove to Brockdale Park by Lavon Lake. I hoped to see a Merlin. But instead I saw a Bald Eagle soaring high above the lake. This brought my species count for Collin County up to 110, tied with my highest species count.
I followed the world chess championship via the internet until it concluded. It was an interesting match, though it turned out one-sided.
