I finished reading Anna Katherine Green's "The Leavenworth Case." I enjoyed it quite well. I read a good bit of Laird Hunt's novel "Zorrie,", which I also like very well.

Sunday before last my friend Randy passed away. We started our law firm 21 years ago. Randy retired in 2018 or so. I do not recall a cross word in those years between us. I will miss him.

This weekend I am going to travel on an airplane for the first time since the pandemic started. We go to visit my wife's family in Kansas. I look forward to the trip, though it promises to renew familiar experiences in a new pandemic coating.

The weather promises to be unseasonably warm.

I follow with interest the trial of Elizabeth Holmes and the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, though media coverage of each remains unsatisfactory. One article sought to make hay of Ms.  Holmes' request for her sorority sisters to come to her trial in support. I believe that other stories remain to be told about the Theranos debacle than the sage of Ms. Holmes' sorority sisters.

Oh, I'm so sorry about Randy. What a blow. Hope you have safe, peaceful travels.
