gurdonarkToday we planned to go to my brother's home about 15 minutes from our house for Thanksgiving Dinner. This would have been the first time we got to see my brother, his wife, his son and his son's girlfriend up close since the pandemic began. My sister-in-law turned up a bit ill this morning, though, so we played it safe and all changed plans.
My wife and I decided to drive an hour north to Hagerman National Wildlife Reserve. Today the weather proved blustery though the temperature was not all that cold. We saw hundreds of Snow Geese, a seasonal staple for this reserve. We also saw a Northern Harrier, a pair of Red-Shouldered Hawks, a Red-Tailed Hawk, Greater Yellowlegs and other species. We also saw the contrasting colors of Winter grasses.
On the way home, we ate breakfast food at an International House of Pancakes. I liked my pancakes even without syrup.
