There must be some problem with my monitor

For some reason, when I put on my LJ user info, the "friend of" list shows that marstokyo deleted her journal. This must be a mistake, the modern equivalent of TV static malfunction, as I'm sure marstokyo knows or must know how important her journal is to my everyday reading here on Livejournal.

When I was five or so, my family got its first color TV. I remember that the TV installer used a wand-like device to test the quality of the color. I somehow got the idea, though, that the little hand-held electric device he was using somehow magically "put the color in" to a black and white screen.

I believe that marstokyo is one of those users who "puts the color in" my LiveJournal experience. Accordingly, I am sorry to see her journal down, and very hopeful that we soon see her journal up and running.

My new maxim for the world to follow? Filter, don't delete.
My old maxim? That part about not letting the bastards get one down.

A beautiful story, I feel the same way about her journal...she is a very special person. I think it is special to believe in the magic of t.v. special wands at a young age, I hope you always do believe in magic!

Crap, crap, crap! I was trying so hard to understand where that other person was coming from...but now I'm just really, really angry. And I can understand why marstokyo might want to leave this forum entirely. But, selfishly, I need her around, I want her here. Blah! Help! What should we do? Something? Nothing? I feel helpless but I don't want to make S. feel worse by sending her pathetic e-mail messages...I do think she knows how much we all appreciate her--at least I hope she does.

I know just how you feel. I am a huge believer in debate and interchange, but the kind of cruelty that the commenter in question showed to MT really makes me angry, and actually a bit sad. I noted the same things about that commenter's journal that you did, which tends to cause me to make allownaces, but if MT was adversely affected by this woman, then I am really upset about it.
Among other things, the woman's comments seemed to me to cross the line on LJ rules,but I have not acted on that sentiment.

I have not decided what contact to make, but I am very hopeful that MT returns to livejournal very quickly. I hope, too, that she posts in her "friends only" journal, as it's clear to me now that not everyone is mature enough to handle non-majority opinions in open forums. 26, though! I would have thought that would be mature enough.

Yeah, I just noticed her name was crossed off on my friends list and was quite distressed too!  I hope she is OK and will be back soon. It sucks the way people treat her sometimes. :o(

I'm a firm believer in the "friends only" post since I've had some nosy people reading my journal lately.

I don't think we should bombard S. with emails either, but what can we do???

I'm still "all public", although the price of being "all public" is that my content has to be monitored a bit more than a journal with a small friends list might be.

bleah ...too much crack today. I was changing over a community a/c, logged in as *my* a/c and typed the wrong code... I have dropped off your friends list. That's your friends list btw, not mine. I had a wee problem when I made a change to the format and as a result all the friends (that's you placing me on your list) dropped off.
