The key problem with travel is that if one switches time zones, and then awakes at 3 in the morning, one cannot predict when the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine re-runs will come on. On the other hand, one can learn all sorts of as-yet-unwanted facts about ways to preserve that china-doll complexion. The second dilemma is what I call the "not quite a redeye" dilemma. When one's plane lands at 11 p.m., and the next plane takes off at 5 a.m., it's not quite long enough for a proper sleep, but too long for just waiting by the gate. I suppose I'll go the "airport motel" routine, so that I may shower, but then I must endure that "you must be crazy" grimace from the hotel check in person when I say at 11 p.m. "Wake up call for 3:15, please". The third travel dilemma is figuring out how to thread SF from the place in which the 101 ends at the north part of SF down to the part where the 101 begins at the bottom part of SF, but I suppose the rental car map can solve that one better than I solved it yesterday.

All the dilemmae pale in comparison, though, to the high quality of the home-town pizza I had here last night.

If you're ever bored in the SF area, feel free to drop us a line and come meet for coffee... :) I can give you good directions, too. The best route, as I recall, involves taking 19th Ave down through the park, onto Hwy 1, and thence to 101 again. Plus it's pretty.

Someday you'll wish you paid more attention to the china-doll complexion preservation hints.

I sure wish I had!
