Western Union's bidpay on-line service wrote me an e mail about someone wanting to pay for an on line auction purchase with a Western Union money order. I've never received anything from Western Union before now. I once had to send some money to someone via Western Union, and marvelled at how high the commission proved to be. In old movies and in books, I love when people send and receive telegrams. I've never received a telegram, but I've received junk mail disguised to look like a messagegram or some such. It's funny how we can romanticize what is really merely inferior technology, but we can and we do and I do especially. I will cash my money order when it arrives, with glee.

I hear the word telegram and I think of every old movie I love, whether it has a telegram in it or not.
