Monday morning I rose at 5 a.m., caught a 7:30 plane to Austin, attended to a business matter, ate chicken and broccoli, caught a 1:25 p.m. plane back to Dallas and worked the rest of the day.

Tuesday morning I rose at 6 a.m., drove to a 7:30 a.m. dental appointment, listened on my mog.com subscription service to the ambient Artist Steve Roach while I got a crown replaced, and then worked hard all day. Tonight my wife made a wonderful cornish game hen stuffed with rice and accompanied with an orange sauce.

Tonight the rains fall with vigor. We need this rain so badly, even if, in Texas fashion, the news now turns to the possibility of flash floods.

Tonight the State of the Union speech is on television. Despite the many issues and challenges, my
thoughts tonight are with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, victim of an assasination attempt, and
her courage in trying to work through it, and the challenges of the families whose loved ones were lost.
