Perhaps an episode of Xena: Warrior Princess is a fitting substitute for a vacation. I have been playing with a photo of a cedar tree among a field of flowers with my notebook computer's little photo editing program. The program is so rudimentary, though, that I'll have to switch to a computer with a proper photo editing program installed to do much with it.

I'm ever so mildly jarred by the little fender bender yesterday.
I'm not sure if it was a physical jar, or merely hypochrondia. I just know I have minor little aches I did not have 2 days ago.
I don't really mind--they're little signals--life on Mars, after all.

Now that I'm in a better mood, the weekend seems like a long vista of things to do, people to see, and art projects to complete. I am behind some of my self-imposed schedule--it is SO important to finish things when the adrenaline is racing, or else delays like this will ensue.

Tomorrow is another day. Besides, I still have Tara.

If only you were here, we could sit down and turn your cedar tree into ... whatever you wanted.

I know you don't want to spend money on photo software so you could consider GIMP. It's free from gimp.org. Down side: it's really difficult to learn how to do the cool things that you envision but I suspect that it's pretty difficult no matter what "real" photo-editing software you use. The easiest I have personally used so far is Microsoft PictureIt. It's even fairly cheap at $49.

My work computer has the MS photo software, and I believe that our larger computer--the one I don't usually use now--has something as well. I usually am on our small notebook, though, and it's got that odd basic Kodak editing program which is not bad for looking at pix but awful for doing anything with them.
