she searches for planets

generating complicated computer algorithms,
finding her quarry in anomaly;
everything worthwhile is located in resolving quirk,
modeled projection or walking logorithmic corridors.

she lives her life in endless mapping,
she calculates possibility, and alternatives,
she never sees what she views,
her answers derive from the revolutions of stars.

she says she believes only in what she can prove,
her faith is based in mathematics and phenomena,
affected stars, misplaced revolutions, orbital wobble,
but she'd give an eye for the wisdom of why, simply why.

I really like this. It reminds me of the female lead in Contact.

Thanks. I wasn't thinking of Contact, but that makes sense.
