Monday is great only in that the "to do" list seems like a touchstone, some sort of magic charm guiding me to get things done. By Thursday, it's just another document in the word processing directories. But on Monday, when all imagination is gone but getting something done, it's my personal talisman. I only wish that my need for morning free time did not cause me to leave for the office so late on mornings like this. This morning is much more excusable, though, as the home had to be restored to a spouse-ready condition prior to my departure for work.
I wish I could restore my car to pristine condition with the same determination.

Lately I've been listening to music while I work, because no matter what those studies say, I *am* more productive with music playing. Usually, I think that the ambient guitar works of Jeff Pearce make me the most productive (or put me in the best mood, which is almost the same thing).
Today, though, I'm revelling in my latest Dollar Store purchase--Roy Rogers' "Home on the Range" greatest hits collection. I would stop to describe it in detail, but I must get back to my to do list.

The solution to your pristine car problem

It's so seldom that I can offer real practical advice that I like to jump on the opportunity when it presents itself: the solution to getting your car into pristine condition is to throw money at it. (You can solve a great many household problems this way.)

Take it to a detailer. Find one in the yellow pages near your office. It follows that if you truly liked car-cleaning then you would have done it by now so just stick a crowbar into your wallet and do it. I should know, I finally stuck a crawbar into my own wallet and my car looked new afterwards. Very satisfying; I could throw that drink-cup lid from Sonic onto the floor with a newfound sense of having brought new life to an old car.

Entropy has its way in the end but for awhile, you look pristine.

I think this is good advice. I am usually loathe to spend money on car things, other than maintenance, but it's not like (a) I can't afford to or (b) I spend my money on wiser things.

I still have to replace a piece of trim I knocked off my white police car looking thing a while back when I misjudged the mud that was the cessation of a "new subdivision" street for continued pavement.
It was a restful feeling, sitting at that subdivision on a rainy day, in the middle of nowhere, waiting interminably for AAA to arrive.
I tried to find the part on parts.com, but I think I got the year wrong. Heaven forbid I actually go to a dealer. I am now energized to do all needful things.
