I finished the new Harry Potter book during the latest of what has become a month of "keep me up until well past midnight flying" flight delays. As usual, I couldn't sleep, so I stayed up until 3:30 a.m. This hindered somewhat my plan to arise at dawn, but I still arose by a respectable hour. I've spent the morning working with some documents, and will spend the afternoon doing the same. Tomorrow, I'll do work on other matters. It's quite hot outside, but not as hot as Arizona. Everywhere I drive I see crape myrtles in bloom. Although, on paper, I prefer that each region grow its native plants, rather than growing exotics, crape myrtles get a "free pass" from me, because they bloom so well here. I'm glad to have a weekend to focus on what I'm doing, and just relax into the work of things.

I do miss crepe myrtles, but they belong where summer hums under a humid sky, waiting for the afternoon thunderstorm.

Crapes grow all sorts of places, but they really seem to love Texas sun, storms, and humidity.

How did you like the Harry Potter?
We are about 100 pages in.

I really came to like it a lot by the end. Although, in my opinion, the series does diminish a bit in quality as the books wear on, the factor of diminishment is remarkably slight compared to other series of books.
