First Monday of the Year
Jan. 4th, 2022 07:52 amThough my firm took Monday as a firm holiday, I worked from home the entire day. I got a lot done, though I wish I had gotten even a bit more done. Sparrow spent the day enjoying the backyard sun, playing with his stuffed toys, and laying on his dog bed next to the reclining chair in which I sit with my laptop. He came able to use a doggy door "out of the box." His only vice thus far is a desire to chew on things. We must take some training steps to stop that habit, though he has caused no damage so far. A teething treat yesterday helped.
Before the New Year, I finished reading reading "Elder Race" by Adrian Tchaikovsky. I began reading Freya Marske's "A Marvelous Light."
Some highlights of the holiday season:
1. A Christmas Eve dinner at True Foods Cafe, where I had a wonderful squash soup and a Korean bowl based on sweet potato glass noodles;
2. A Christmas Day steak dinner at home;
3. A lovely walk in Oak Point Park on a warm holiday day;
4. meeting Sparrow on December 30;
5. A dinner at friends Yi and Lulu's place;
6. Getting to see my brother quickly for a moment on Christmas Eve;
7. A good call or two with my sister; and
8. A restful New Year's Eve.
