Painted

Memorial Day came up rainy. I did some work work, some home work and read the novel I am reading, "Beforelife." At 5 p.m., I entered an on-line USCF open blitz chess on-line chess tournament. I scored 2 out of 5, but I had fun. At 10 p.m. I played in a blitz chess tournament on-line for which the entrants were all rated under 1450. I went undefeated through this field, scoring 5 wins and 2 draws. I made it a point to accept draws when my time was short ,even if, with enough time, I was probably better.

Tuesday and Wednesday were less rainy. I walked in our local Glendover Park after work.

Tonight after work I went to the optometrist. I was a bit past due to do that. The new optometrist near my work was very good. I was pleased to hear that my cataracts have not really advanced. I stopped in Oak Point Park for a walk. Water was everywhere. I took pictures of a Painted Bunting and of a Little Blue Heron.

My nephew's wife and new-born child are in the hospital. They are both making progress, but it is a matter of concern.
