Tonight I went to the Heard Natural Science Center for the monthly Prairie and Timbers Audubon Society meeting. I wore a suit to work today and kept it on for the meeting, so some folks who know me a little did not recognize me at all.The program tonight was a presentation about migrating birds coming to north Texas. Gailon Brehm, Mike Cameron and Carolyn Oldham did a great job of presenting 27 such birds, using in particular lots of Mike's great pictures. I learned a few warbler names I did not know by sight, such as the Magnolia Warbler and the Blackburnian Warbler.

This morning I got up very early because I had a matter at 8 a.m. at the downtown Dallas courthouse. Rather than face the driving-and-parking thing at the courthouse, I elected to take the train. I caught the Orange Line at 6:16 a.m. from Parker Road Station in Plano and arrived at the West End Station downtown around 7 a.m. A Corner Bakery was right beside the train stop. I went in, got a banana and a soft drink, and prepared for my hearing while darkness turned to morning. Then I walked the couple of blocks to the courthouse for my matter. Later in the morning I caught the train north and then drove from Parker Road Station to my office.

At lunch, I took pictures of bluebirds. The day went pretty well, and I learned new things at work and at leisure.
