Today is a bit of a red-letter day. We celebrate our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary today. We wed in Mission Hills, Kansas. The grass was green. The day turned rainy. The organist played Purcell's "Trumpet Tune". My voice quavered during the wedding ceremony, a bit, which with hindsight surprises me. The era of our marriage comprises around forty-five percent of the length of my life so far. We spent sixty percent of our marriage in Texas thus far, with the rest in California.

Tonight is a quiet evening. We plan to celebrate on Saturday. We do not need any silver, but we'll exchange cards and perhaps a gift or so. We've been blessed with happiness and more-or-less good health. We don't take anything for granted. We're grateful for what we have and for each day.

The time passed quickly. I think this is the blessing and trial of everything in life--it all happens so quickly.
