Cactus wrens, Pima County, Arizona, February 14, 2015

Today we took a morning hike on the Pima Canyon Trail, commencing at the Iris Dewhirst trailhead. Then we went with our relatives to a place that made a darn good gyros. I had a chicken gyros which turned out well.

We stopped by an art gallery devoted to the works of Maynard Dixon, which also had some regional art for sale. It was intriguing to see a $150,000 price tag on one of these paintings.

The gallery also had other artists on display. I liked Jeffrey Aeling's light-and-open-spaces canvasses.

We all went to a Native American arts and crafts sale, where we bought nothing but enjoyed a song that a man was singing. We stopped by the Old Arizona Inn and looked at its gardens.

In the late afternoon, I walked down a huge hill in a foothills neighborhood, where I watched the Cactus Wrens, the Curve-Billed Thrashers, and a cute little Verdin as I walked.
