Today we celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. The afternoon today proved very rainy--a welcome thing in a Stage Three drought. On May 12, 1990, dark skies also threatened rain on a very green Kansas day. The floral arrangements emphasized green garlands. Purcell's "Trumpet Tune" served as the processional. The next morning we caught a flight to Nassau, where we snorkeled and ate fresh seafood all week.

Our actual celebration occurs on Friday. We plan to try a new-ish Mexican restaurant. This week features no plane flights to the islands. We talk a bit about this three day weekend or that, but right now we have good reasons to stay home. Perhaps we'll slip away in the coming few weekends. Someday I want to go to the curious state park in west Texas at which folks snorkel in fresh water. But for now, we enjoy our lives,
and that suffices. Our marriage continues after occupying some 44% of my life thus far. Onward we go, through the rain.
