eastern bluebird in breckinridge park on march 11 2013

I slept eight hours last night. I feel that I am dodging some bullet of potential illness. I stopped to get gasoline on my way to work, but I did not fill the tank up. It was too chilly (high 30s) and windy to stand around outside. By noon, the temperature was in the high 40s. I was able to walk for a few moments in Breckinridge Park. I saw bluebirds there.

By six p.m. it was 60 degrees. I stopped by East Fork Park after work to see if I could see wildlife. This park has a little parking lot next to a finger of Lake Lavon. As I pulled up, a great blue heron flew away. Then I could not get a good picture of a cardinal. Gadwall ducks elected not to pose. As I was driving off, I saw a lovely kestrel on top of a telephone pole. Then I saw a huge red-tailed hawk on a cedar tree. I snapped a few photos, and then drove home.
