I woke very early this morning and watched a nature DVD about Victoria Falls. Then I watched an on-line video about two snowy owls raising little owlets.

My wife and I drove into Dallas by 11 a.m. We went to the Dallas Museum of Art. The museum was hosting a special exhibition about Marc Chagall, "Beyond Color". We liked the exhibit very much--Chagall's work fascinates in every phase of his career. The museum had a great exhibit of women working in contemporary art, as well as two new intriguing installations by Scots artist Karla Black. We liked also the exhibition ofLoren Mozley, whom could have qualified as "Taos artist", but who was a professor at the University of Texas.

We had lunch at the museum, and then went to the Trammell Crow Museum of Asian Art. A young man guided four of us through John Thomson's 19th Century photographs from China. I learned a lot, and the images were very interesting.

I walked Beatrice in the afternoon, and saw mockingbirds and yellow-rumped warblers. This evening we had an early supper at a kind of going-away thing for folks heavily involved in a charity my wife supports. Now I am going to go read my novel, and think about bee-eaters and
lemmings.
