When I walked back to work from Subway Sandwich shop, in mid-80s weather with a wonderful breeze, I passed a small stand of trees by a creek. I heard a blue jay. announcing his presence. How many jays have I heard in this wonderful life? Each one is a revelation. "Jay! Jay!". When in some future day I vacate this world, I will try to remember that I am thankful for small things, like the shrill cry of a blue jay.
