batter up

The evening proved pleasingly cool as we walked our dogs in the local park. The scissortail flycatchers and kingbirds so abundant a few weeks ago are now sparse. In August, an evening in the park meant lots of cute kids at play--now it's a quiet place, due to the start of school.






I was just thinking about how it's possible to psych oneself out of anything, and how important it is to
step up to the plate, bat in hand, and to hit or go down swinging.
