Jun. 13th, 2008 06:00 am I am focusing on things I know how to do intellectually but rarely do. I am on the verge of setting up a non-profit to try to promote Creative Commons culture. The things I know--corporate formation, a rough idea of tax-qualification, business models, and the like--are pretty nuts and bolts.
The things I don't know--the mechanics of fund-raising, sharing one's vision with others who might want to participate, and promotion--are also pretty nuts and bolts, but perhaps are less my forte' because of a kind of "human element" about them.
I learn one thing about myself as middle age has not only crept in, but changed its gait from little cat's feet to a beast in the jungle, pretty much sprung. I learn that I am able to learn--an old dog who can learn new tricks from a book. It will be fun to see what I can accomplish here. I do not know if I can fullly achieve my goal. But i am certain I can use the experience to achieve something new--and fun.
