today I read of Madeline Bassett

I spent a day in Austin. The business I was visiting had the name "Lakeside" in the title, which usually means there is a little created pond near an office building, but this time meant the conference room was directly adjoining a boat dock on a lake. It was like having Summer take place just steps from the wintry glory of legal matters.

I wracked my brain to remember the name of a particular Cocteau play tonight. When I remember it, I'll read it again--as well as the letters between Cocteau and Maritain.

I read a magazine about tropical fish. I am better at looking appreciatively as such things than I am at raising them.

Expect the unexpected is the phrase that appeals to me tonight.
