Last night I worked on a hobby thing into which I'd poured days of effort. Today, after its completion and irretrievability, I came to realize that all the saturnine advances in my knowledge and technique had fallen down on a simple point, resulting in the entire thing being more or less unalterably ruined. This teaches me many lessons--one about patience not always being rewarded, and a second about the virtue of more patience than even extravagant patience. As always, gambler's luck rewards in adrenalin, not success, and one is not fated to be talented, merely because one ideally would wish to be talented. It's focusing, though, to realize that one is good at some things, and not at others, and in particular that ignorance is such a blight.
