Dark birds
Mar. 25th, 2002 07:10 amI saw a tiger swallowtail, a red admiral, sulphurs, a cabbage and something whose name escapes me yesterday. We also went walking by McKinney Towne Lake later in the afternoon.
We saw those dark little duck-like creatures.
Are these what coots are? I have no idea.
I have a very busy day ahead, so I guess it's just as well that the Oscars put me to sleep long before the best picture. In 50 years, when people look back, they will be amazed that Beautiful Mind won over Lord of the Rings, but such is the way of Hollywood in perpetuity.
I'm eager to get a lot done today.

Date: 2002-03-27 10:47 am (UTC)I was looking for what kind of bird the dark, duck-like creature might be.
If it is a duck (Does it look like a duck? Heh, heh, heh), this web
page might help http://www.agfc.com/rules_regs/hunting_regs_migratory_type.html
If your bird's not in there, I've got a Peterson guide that I can put into service.
