details, details, details

Today I worked on numerous matters in progress, making good progress on each. It's amazing how many details can arise in a single matter. It's similarly amazing how many details can be resolved at once if everyone is in "resolution mode". The expression "the devil is in the details" and its later progeny, "God is in the details", both appeal to me. But tonight it seems to me that details are like molecules--they permeate everything,
so that we all live details, breathe details, drink details, and eat details. No matter how much things are parsed to their essentials, the essentials seem so full of details. I love to see the forest for the trees, but that does't change the fact that the forest remains there--full of trees.
