Last night the weather got very cold. This morning, my wife and I drove to meet with a fellow about routine family business. We took separate cars as we work at places quite distant from one another. Our meeting went well. I drove to my office, arriving just in time to make my 10 a.m. call. The workday provided a day full of challenges. Just when I felt I had reached a restful equilibrium, an email came with a cool new challenge with a ten day deadline. My work is kind enough to give me a fun-filled dance-card in the holidays.

At lunch, I ate soft chicken tacos and walked in Breckinridge Park. I do not mind cold that much when the wind and humidity are low. I saw the male American Kestrel, two Savannah Sparrows and a gaggle of Canada Geese.

We went tonight to the Taiwanese restaurant Yama, which is the new name for Umeko. The staff seemed the same, but the ownership is apparently different. I had shrimp with broccoli, a little salmon, hot and sour soup and a couple of tempura shrimp. We talked of Christmas plans, of Christmas shopping and of trips I'd like to take.

Tomorrow afternoon it warms a bit to 10 degrees C. I will walk Beatrice then. In the meantime, we make do with throwing her stuffed duckling.

My wife's aunt, of whom we are fond, remains in very poor health. I wish she could get well again, but I am afraid that is not to be.
