Usually, the workers arrive at 8.00 a.m. Today the roofing team arrived at 6.30 a.m.
Their early advent surprised us. The inconvenience proved minor. I took Beatrice to
Pappy's Pet Lodge by 7:15 a.m. I tried to put some air in a back tire but the robo-air failed to work. I dropped Beatrice off and drove to the car dealer. I walked down to McDonald's on Coit to get oatmeal while I waited. Then I watched Andy Murray lose a lot of a tennis match at Wimbledon while I waited. I got to work around 9 a.m.
Work turned out to be really busy today. I like busy days. At noon I walked in Travis Farm Park. I watched two red-tailed hawks on a distant tree. I liked their resonant calls. A bit after 6 p.m. I left to get Beatrice. She loves standing on my lap as I drive and looking out the window.
Because the coin op on the air dispenser did not work, I used a credit card to buy 1 dollar and 50 cents of air. My reward for this rashness was for my credit card company to freeze my card while it checked with me to see if a 3 dollar charge was fraudulent. I rarely use my credit card in odd places, and that reminds me of why.
When I got home, our house's new roof was on. I guess fellows who arrive at 6.30 a.m.
can get things done. We went out for Chinese food, and talked of our day. The workers also painted more things, so that we have to be careful not to touch things.
I saw it was someone on Facebook's birthday, so I fired up Inkscape and drew this:
