Yesterday the temperature hit the high 70s. Last night a cold front moved in. The wind howled.
This morning it is windy and the temperature is in the 40s. I fell asleep last night at 9:30 p.m.. Though I awoke again at 1 a.m., I soon fell back asleep. I am reading my current sci-fi a few pages at a time. I find that e-readers make me a more regular reader, but one who reads fewer pages per session.

My on-line postal chess games are not going very well. I am fairly well-matched with my opponents, but in general they are all a bit better than I am. This is a contrast with the last tournament I played on-line, when I was the best. They say you learn more from playing your betters, and I suppose it's true. But some days education seems to involve a lot of
bruises.

I watched some videos by locallocal.tv in Rochester, NY. One video featured an injured raptor rescue. I like film-makers who make short films about very local things, whether a small business or a non-profit or a destination in nature. I want to try my hand at that kind of video making.

I am jealous of your 70s; it must be a wonderful (if temporary) reprieve from winter, a nice taste of what is to come, before you start getting tired of it. ;)

Even though I hate going to bed early since it "wastes time" (....that I'd otherwise spend watching tv..../shame), there is something really nice about (hopefully) waking up early and refreshed. On those occasions are when mornings are really magical.

I love my ereader and am glad I got it; it was completely on a whim, too. I've noticed it also makes me a more regular reader. I like that.

Our Winters here are lovely--a third of the days are in the 50s, a third are very cold, and the rest tend to be pretty temperate.
We never get bored. Last night the freeze moved in, and it's now something like 30 degrees at 6 a.m.

I tend to stay up too late, but I prefer to rise early after a good night's sleep.

E readers are the best. They also help me curb my naturel instinct to have a zillion books in the bookcase :)
